Sunland is a neighborhood in the northeastern San Fernando Valley region of the city of Los Angeles, California, situated within the Crescenta Valley and at the foot of the Verdugo Mountains. It is home to roughly 16,000 residents and, together with adjacent Tujunga, forms the Sunland-Tujunga community, an area linked by shared schools, a branch library, a neighborhood council, and a single high school. The community lies about 12 miles from Burbank, Glendale, and Pasadena, and roughly 20 miles from downtown Los Angeles. Sunland's character is shaped by its foothill setting.
